My name is Gisile, 83 years, 112 lbs, 5'2", 3/4 vegetarian (some chicken and fish).

In the beginning of 1960, I had the first sign of arthritis. During 1970, I took Dr. P. Aird's method and fasted up to 22 days with amazing good results. I had to stop because of liver trouble during fast. My doctor advised, or said, people of 70 years cannot fast anymore, etc.

After the shock of a mastectomy in 1991, my arthritis became the very painful Rheumatoid arthritis. Medications didn't help very much and they also affected my stomach. I have to eat a very strict bland diet.

The Clinic on West -- Avenue took care of me. I received Goldsalt injection once a week, blood and urine lad test every second week. An itchy skin all over my body developed. My Clinic physician Dr. -- stopped the Gold to clear up the rash. After six months I felt better a bit.

This year 1996 in February, I had the worst flair up of R. Arthritis and went back for Gold treatment at the Clinic. This time the skin rash started this month (Sept). Dr. -- advised to have the Gold injection every second week to clear up the skin rash.

In April I had a blood test:

	Hemoglobin - 100
	ESR - 53

I took Iron with slow improvement. In August hemoglobin was up to 112.

In July a health store clerk mentioned liquid Glucosamine "Chitaq". I started Chitaq on July 27 '96.

After two weeks I noticed the swelling in hands and wrists were slightly down. Now, Sept 24 '96 it is more noticeable. I can do more and don't feel so handicapped. My neck and shoulders hardly wake me at night. I can walk better (with a cane) for approx. 25 minutes. Then the osteoarthritis in my back gets too painful. At home I am flat on my back a lot, that takes away the pain. I read a lot then!

So, toes, feet, ankles are getting better, but knees and hip are a painful problem at night.

I saw Dr. -- at the Clinic last week (Sept 18 '96) for a check up. The best news is:

	Hemoglobin - 122
	ESR - 17

back to normal, both a big improvement

Now is the $69.00 question - how much did the Gold injections help, and how much did Chitaq?
